Why did upscaling or frame generation change automatically?

The October 29 producer letter says the game automatically switches an upscaling or frame-generation setting when it does not work on the player's system, and displays a notification. A changed setting can therefore be an intended compatibility fallback.

Read the notification before switching it back

Note which feature changed and what the message says. Reopen the graphics settings and check the active configuration. Do not repeatedly force the same option back on without first checking whether the game accepts it on your hardware.

The notice does not publish a complete GPU-and-mode compatibility table. It cannot establish that a named upscaling method or frame-generation mode works on every card.

Separate first-launch loading from gameplay stutter

A shader compilation screen was added for the first launch so players can see loading progress instead of a black screen. If the screen is showing compilation, let that process finish before comparing gameplay performance. A persistent launch failure needs the separate launch troubleshooting steps.

For in-game stutter, compare the same location with one graphics change at a time. Record resolution, the active upscaling setting and whether frame generation is enabled. Avoid changing camera controls, graphics and combat settings together, because that hides which change affected the result.

Check the display setup and report a repeatable case

The October 29 changes also improved multi-monitor support and fullscreen switching. If the problem appears after moving between monitors or changing display mode, include that exact transition in the report.

The November 4 response acknowledged stuttering and frame-rate drops and said optimization would continue through Early Access. That is not a guarantee that a single preset fixes every PC. Provide hardware details, the affected area and a repeatable sequence through ESC Customer Support rather than using an unsupported universal “best settings” list.
