How do you check a Lunastone before buying or using it?

Read the individual Lunastone's effect and equipment compatibility before buying it. The name alone is not enough to decide whether it serves your current weapon or character plan. RaidDex lists Lunastones and Lunagems as separate item categories; do not treat similar names as interchangeable upgrade materials.

Compare the actual item

Inspect the effect text, item requirements and equipment it can be used with. Compare that benefit against your current equipment and the stats your chosen weapon uses. A higher rarity label is not by itself a complete comparison.

An external database may list variants or items that are not currently obtainable. Its full item count is not proof that every entry is available in the live regions. Confirm the item and its current description in the game before spending.

Recognize the corrected Marketplace problem

The November 7 maintenance fixed an issue where Lunastone effects were displayed incorrectly in the Marketplace. An older screenshot of a listing can therefore contain an obsolete display error.

If a current listing still appears inconsistent, record the item name and displayed effect rather than assuming a different effect will activate after purchase. The fix does not establish that all similarly named stones have identical stats.

Keep Lunastones separate from other progression

The October 29 producer letter added new Trait stat nodes and four Lunastones as separate changes. Buying a stone does not automatically unlock a weapon Trait, and earning a Coilstone Trait Point is a different reward.

Choose the upgrade that addresses your actual requirement. For weapon skills, inspect the Traits tree; for an equipment effect, compare the exact item. This avoids spending on a similarly named progression system that cannot solve the problem you are trying to fix.
